This cracker was specially designed for use with the macadamia nuts. However T.J's nutcracker will crack any nut that fits in it's jaws. Macadamia nuts have the toughest shell found on Earth but with this cracker, all nuts have met their match. Other crackers require physical strength to crack the nut. TJs Nut cracker works with leverage. Macadamia nuts drying. At harvest, the macadamia nuts can have a moisture content of up to 30% and shall be dried down to a kernel moisture content of about 1.5%. This is a crucial process to maximize product quality and shelf life. The kernel shrinks away from the shell, allowing the shells to be cracked without damaging the kernel.

We manufacture a range of machinery and tools to suit every grower (especially macadamia nut growers), from one nut at a time for home use right up to 600kg per hour for the commercial grower. With both de-huskers and crackers for commercial growers, as well as a combination machine that performs both functions for the lifestyle orchardist.

Hazel nuts– We have trailed, Cam Panica, Butler, Barcellona, White Heart, Mervelle Boweiler, and Tonda de Roma, varieties with great cracking success at around 70% whole kernels across the varieties, we are still working on a de-husker for these nuts. please make contact for information. Peach kernels – We have modified several machines to process these wet for growers wanting to produce root stock for grafting purposes.

Pine nuts – With some alterations we are able to crack these with around a 50% whole kernel rate.
